More than 15,000 cooperatives are registered in Kenya with a membership of 6,1 million and an asset base of Shs300 billion.

More than 63% of the Kenyan population benefit directly or indirectly from the cooperative movement.

The Kenya government is looking at cooperative as important in moving the economy forward in its Vision 2030 – that being the year Kenyans are expecting to turn their country into a middle income economy.
