Digital content for stakeholders are expected to hold a conference next February to create awareness about the opportunities available and the process to be followed in approving digital education content.

This follows a liberalization of the development of the digital content by the Ministry of Education to make it possible for all publisher and content developers to participate.
The Ministry has however said that all the content will have to be regulated by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development to ensure that standards are met and are in line with curriculum.

Analysts believe that publishers and animators will be the biggest beneficiaries of the current effort by the government to introduce laptops and digital education in all schools under the Digital Literacy Programme.

The programmes will offer an opportunity for pupils in all government schools to access education materials through devices such laptop. The courses will be available both on and offline.
